Hi Exia. It’s been a while since I last update my blog. For the past 3 weeks, I have been away on course to become a Provost. “Provost” hmm… What is provost? Well to make it simple, “Military Police for Civil Defense Force”. We uphold the laws and order within the Camps. Well let’s begin from day one.
Well after my Pass Out Parade (POP) from recruit life; time to move on to vocation training. From this point of time, everyone will be posted to different vocations. Well for example there are vocations like paramedics, drivers, clerk, administrations, General Tech, Provost and so on… Well I was posted to Provost Course. Haiz… Not the choice I had in mind but who cares... Just do well in it, avoid troubles and ORD in peace. Well from this point of time, we all are going to shiver with fear as we are about to move out from Basic Rescue Training Center (BRTC) and head down to Civil Defense Academy (CDA). Why do I say shiver with fear. Well basically, it is a place well known as “HELL”. It’s where you get tortured. A place with no rules and regulation at all. Who ever goes there, simple to say… Good Luck Chucky...
We sat down quietly awaiting for our new instructor. ½ and hour later, a young man came by. There he was “Instructor Muzakir” He did some debrief with us about the course and how’s life’s going to be. He got only 1 rule. You comply with order, life would be reasonable. If not, he will treat all of us exactly how Fire Fighters are train. Hmm I’m sure you may wonder how bad the training as a fire fighter is like right. Hmmm… To make it simple, after the training, the result is when you squeeze out the uniform you wore and it can fill up to ½ the pail of sweats. That’s how bad it is.
Well again, I was appointed as IC for the provost squad. Haiz… What the hell… I work out my magic again to avoid punishment for the whole lot. Even so, we end up getting punish. AYAA!! Damn!! it SUX!! We even haven’t start moving out from BRTC yet we already get a taste of hell… I gave a perfect command and control to the squad and safely march them to CDA. We were given an introduction on the course follow up with foot drills with the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of CDA “Senior Warrant Officer Encik SALLEH” That afternoon, we all cry as he took us for foot drill lessons at the parade square. At around 1700 hrs, we head home exhausted. For those people who are fasting, we got no choice but to endure all the way.
Following weeks, we learn on self-defense, more to theory on laws and order and how to act as a Provost. Along the way, we had a favorite word to use. “LOCK ON!!” This is when we execute the Control & Restrain Technique. It was fun but painful. We also learn how to handle bombs or chemical threats. Then on our final day, we had Final-X. It is the day where we will be tested on the skills that we have learn so far. Well, everything went on smoothly. That’s good enough lah. Haha…
The following day was graduation day. We all were excited and also felt nervous on where we are going to be posted to. I was hoping for 2nd Division which is at tampines. Its way convenient for me as I stay around the area but I end up being posted to Headquarters of Civil Defense Force. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!! Things just got worse and worse… Another place of hell which I need to go through for the rest of my NS Life. Must Be DAMN!! KILAT!! Most of my mate was posted to CDA and the rest were posted to divisions.

Now, the moment everyone had been waiting for. Who is going to be best trainee for the 112th Intake? In this intake, there are many strong players and most of them are the bright ones. So to be best trainee, you must do well in Practical and theory test, attendance must be full and your performance must be excellent.

Then the moment came... LTA Sasmianto makes the announcement of the best trainee for 112th intake... “Lu... a...y...ie” Who the hell is that person sia... Than my instructor correct him. “Lu Ayy Darussalam” I was like SHOCK!! Me Best trainee... Ya right... By then, everyone was cheering me and congregating me. I was honor to get the award and please with everyone especially with my instructor and my Sir. I gave some speech to all my mates and photo taking with my sir. At the end of the day, we had a photo taking for the whole squad.

The last day at the foyer, my instructor gave the very last command... Provost, Bersu… Rai!! That’s where we graduated as Provost on the 11th September 2009 at 1700hrs.

7 Weeks of Recruit Life
Hi Exia. It’s been a while since I last update my blog. I had been away for a while to serve my Country in National Service. Well it’s a compulsory thing for all Singaporean men. What can I say, just serve for 2 years then fuck off.
I was posted to Civil Defense Academy supposedly on the 7th July 2009 but due to my high fever and flu, my enlistment day was push forward on the 9th July 2009.
At around 0800hrs, I reported at CMPB Headquarters. I waited like 5hrs long till someone pick us up to CDA. The process was quick and the next thing I know, I was posted to Alpha Company Platoon 3. To what I heard so far, Alpha was known as Alpha Kilat or also known as fit squad. First 3 days, everyone was sorted out to their individual vocation. It was either ERS or Fire Fighters. Since I was late enlistee, I was not selected as part of the vocation. Disappointment was the easiest to be described. Well even so, we still have to move on. I look around and familiarizes with the people I’m going to be with for the rest of my 7 weeks in Basic Rescue Training Center (BRTC).
1st and 2nd Weeks were relaxed. It was part of the introduction and also for all the new recruits to adapt to the new environment quickly. After the 3rd Week, All kind of shit was given to us. Endurance, perseverance and team work. That’s what I learn.
The 3rd week, I was selected as Platoon IC for Platoon 2 (Dragon Company). I work my magic since I have some experience in the past Uniform Group. Sooner or later, I was given a nick name as IC Kilat. Sounds cool but I have to keep up with my standard. The way I work was sharp and fast. Ensure whatever I do, the results are positive. Follow up weeks; we learn to become a rescuer. We learn First Aid, the equipments that were needed to be use at times there’s an accident occurs, overcome the pressure and work things out quickly and as a team.
Along the way, there’s SOC, IPPT and REPT test. Damn!! It was Sucks… Other than that, the usual wake up morning like around 0515 at Company line to have our water parade. After that it was 5BX time. Follow up was Morning Breakfast. Next was to clean up our bunks for bunk inspection then the morning activities. Morning activities can be rescue training or strength training, weight training or endurance training. Then we have lunch follow up with afternoon activities. By around 1800hrs, we can relax and prepare for dinner. Around 1930hrs, we have water parade. During the following weeks, there was also night training for a selected group. These are the group that is going to represent the company for the foot drill competition. I was 1 of them. We train hard for the whole weeks every night.

On the 6th Week, we had Final X. That’s where we apply all the recue and first aid training we had for the past few weeks. Those who don’t pay attention in class, suffers. I manage to apply all and maintain sharp. Wohoo...
The day before our POP, we had Canadian Pizza’s. We had a so called reunion with our instructors. We had a slow and open talk with them. It was a blast. It was kind of emotional but it was memorable. The shit we went through together like get fuck upside down by the instructors because of our mischievous act. This are the moment that I will never forget.
See u guys on Monday for our posting...

My Last Day of Work in Secret Recipe Cafe Pte.Ltd on the 27th June 2009 (Saturday)
Yes people. You hear me right. I’m finally out from Secret Recipe. After working for almost a year, it’s time for me to say Good Byes. It’s a great honor working with the managers and the crews. There are times we face / deal with customer problems but we still manage to solve them smoothly.
I would like to thank to the managers: “Calvin, Orven, Iskandar and Aunty Shandy” for guiding me from the start. You pass down the knowledge as a service crew, Becoming a Barista and handling of cakes. I learn a lot from secret recipe more about team work and how to handle difficult challenges calmly.
Not to forget, Special Thanks to the Kitchen Staff: Othman, Xie Gang, Amandy, Micheal, Shu Yun.
And the Crews that work with me: Nad, Hanna, Nana Farid @ Najib (Bromance), Faz, Farah, Nab (Ex SR), fidah, didi and haizul. I will never forget the fun and laughter with you guys. You are like a family to me and ill cherish our friendship to the very end. Thank You Guys.
